We are a Bay Area based Tribute Band with a passion to entertain and project the vocal power and musicianship of two of the most influential genre-inventing heavy rock bands ever: Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.
Vocal Power - Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, known for his powerful and wide-ranging singing voice. Black Sabbath's Ozzy Osbourne, aka the "Prince of Darkness" - need we say more? Black Sabbath's (and Rainbow's) Ronnie James Dio. Dio is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal vocalists of all time.
Musicianship on Guitar - Deep Purple's (and Rainbow's) Ritchie Blackmore, prolific in creating guitar riffs and has been known for playing both classically influenced and blues-based solos. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal music and is responsible for inspiring numerous sub-genres of metal.
Musicianship on Keyboard/Organ - Deep Purple's Jon Lord. Lord became known for his pioneering work in fusing rock with classical or baroque forms. His distinctive organ playing was essential to the band's signature heavy sound and contributed to the early development of heavy metal.
Musicianship on Drums - Deep Purple's Ian Paice, one of the most technically proficient rock drummers. Modern Drummer Magazine: "If Muhammad Ali “floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee,” then Ian Paice was surely his drumming alter-ego. Black Sabbath's Bill Ward, also one of the most influential drummer's ever. Drumming website Totaldrumsets defined Bill as “the mastermind behind the unholy birth of heavy metal drumming.”
Musicianship on Bass - These two bassists always locked in with their drummers to complete their hard driving rhythm sections. Deep Purple's (and Rainbow's) Roger Glover, an innovator on bass riffs and the bass sound that growls. Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler, is noted for his melodic playing, and as being one of the first bassists to down-tune his instrument (from the standard E-A-D-G to the lower C#-F#-B-E).
